Floor Installation + Interior Framing Work Underway at New SFLS Site

Despite the wet spring in Sioux Falls, construction crews at 6715 South Boe Lane continue to make significant progress on the new Sioux Falls Lutheran School building.

Hoogendoorn Construction’s site superintendent, Dan Maassen, has been grading the low spots on Tallgrass Avenue daily, in order to improve access to the site for trucks and contractors. He has also been grading inside the site and finding creative ways to get cement to footings when cement trucks can’t get close enough. Thanks be to God for his problem solving skills!

On Thursday, April 25, a temporary road was installed between the parking lot and the building site to improve access to the building during wet spring weather.

After hauling in loads of sand to help dry out the wet clay inside the Sandy Tams Early Childhood Education Center, concrete floors were poured inside the center on Friday, April 26. Framing work inside the early childhood education center began on Monday, April 29.

As soon as contractors finish hauling sand inside the reading area and K-8 education center—hopefully later this week—concrete floors will be poured inside those spaces so framing work can begin there, too.

Please continue to join us in lifting prayers for favorable weather throughout the spring and summer months.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and to Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” –Ephesians 3:20-21.
